6A口语测试样本

Read the passage

1. Public signs

There are a lot of public signs in the park. They mean different things. The sign on the wall means ‘Danger’. It means we must stay away from the building. The sign on the grass means ‘keep off the grass’. It means we shouldn’t walk on the grass. The sign on the birds’ cage means ‘Be quiet’. We shouldn’t make noise there.

 

2. Ben’s birthday

Today is the 16th of October. Ben’s birthday is coming. His birthday is on the 18th of June. Jim would like to come to his birthday party. Jim’s birthday is on the 6th of August. He always has a birthday party. Ben would like a yo-yo as his birthday present. Jim would like to give him a VCD of Japanese cartoons. They would like to watch “Aladdin” together.

 

3. It was there!

Today is Sports Day. All the students are very excited. Now the boys are having a running race. What is Su Hai doing? She is looking for her camera. She wants to take some photos, but she cannot find her camera. It was in her bag a moment ago. It is in Su Yang’s bag now. Where are the films? They’re on the ground. Su Yang picks them up for Su Hai. What a happy day!

 

4. On the farm

It was the National Day holiday last week. Nancy and Helen had a nice holiday. Nancy watched a film with her parents on Wednesday. Helen visited a farm with her family on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, they watered trees and pulled up carrots. On Tuesday, they milked cows and collected eggs. And there were some fruit trees on the farm. They picked a lot of oranges and tasted them. They were very happy.

 

5. Holidays

It is the 18th of December. Christmas is coming. Mr Green and his students are talking about holidays. Christmas is on the 25th of December. New Year’s Day and Spring Festival come after Christmas. On New Year’s Day people usually go to parties. At Spring Festival, people usually visit their relatives and friends, and eat lots of delicious food. Halloween is in October. People usually dress up in costumes and go to parties. It was fun. Mid-Autumn Festival is in September or October, people usually eat moon cakes, play with lanterns and watch the moon.

6. At Christmas

On Christmas Day, Jim’s family were in his grandpa’s house. After lunch, they opened their presents under the Christmas tree. Everybody was very excited. Grandpa’s got a beautiful wallet. It’s from Grandma. Grandpa likes the colour very much. The big present is Grandma’s. There’s a teapot and some tea in it. Grandma likes drinking tea. They’re from Grandpa. Jim has got a calculator and a skateboard. They’re from Mum and Dad.     The watch is for Dad and the hairdryer is for Mum. They are from Grandpa and Grandma. What a wonderful holiday!

1. Public signs

A: Look, there are many signs in the library, Jack.

B: Yes. They’re public signs. They mean different things.

A: There is a sign on the wall. What does it mean?

B: It means “Be quiet”.

A: Oh, I see. People read books here, we shouldn’t make noise and we should keep quiet.

B: Yes, you are clever.

A: Look at that sign, there’s a hamburger and some juice on it. What does it mean?

B: It means “No eating or drinking”.

A: What does that mean?

B: It means we shouldn’t eat or drink here.

A: Oh, I see. Now I know a lot about public signs. Thank you.

B: You’re welcome.

 

2. Talk about birthday

Lucy: What’s the date today, Jane?

Jane: It’s the 30th of September.

Lucy: Oh, tomorrow is National Day!

Jane: Yes, tomorrow is my birthday, too.

Lucy: Really? That’s great!

Jane: Would you like to come to my birthday party?

Lucy: Of course. What would you like as a birthday present?

Jane: En, I’d like a mask.

Lucy: OK. What about a Monkey King mask?

Jane: Great. Thank you. See you tomorrow.

3. Find something

A: Let’s listen to music.

B: Good idea. But where is my CD Walkman?

A: It’s in the bag.

B: It isn’t in the bag now.

A: It was there a moment ago. See, it’s in the bookcase.

B: Right. But I can’t find my earphones.

A: They are near the lamp.

B: They are there now.

A: They were there just now. Look, they are on the sofa. Please look after your things.

4. On the farm

A: My favourite holiday is Halloween. It’s on the 31st of October. People dress up in costumes and go to parties.

B: That’s interesting. Did you go to a party last Halloween?

A: Yes, I did.

B: Cool! I’d like to go to a party this Halloween.

 

6. What would you like as a …present?

A: Hello, what date is it today?

B: It’s the first of July.       

A: Oh, tomorrow is my birthday.

B: Your birthday is on the second of July. Happy birthday! 

A: Thank you.

B: What would you like as a birthday present?

A: I’d like a new school bag as a birthday present.

Because my school bag is too small and old.  

B: Would you like a black one?

A: No. I’d like a blue one with Mickey Mouse.

B: It’s lovely. I hope you’ll get it tomorrow.

A: I hope so.

 

7. Last…

A: Hi, Mid-Autumn Festival is coming.

B: Yes, do you like it?

A: Of course.

B: What did you do last Mid-Autumn Festival?

A: I had a big dinner with my family.

B: What else did you do?

A: I watched the moon at night. It was beautiful. How about you?

B: I had some moon cakes with my parents. In the evening my friends and I played with lanterns.

A: Oh, that was fun.

B: Yes, I was very happy.

1. Public signs

Hello, I’m Jane. I know a lot about public signs. Now let me introduce some public signs for you. Look at my picture, there are three public signs on it. The first sign means “No smoking”. We shouldn’t smoke here. The second sign means “No littering”. It means we shouldn’t litter things here. Look at the third sign. There’s a big “P” on it. Do you know what does it mean? Let me tell you, it means “No parking”. Now do you know more about public signs?

 

2. Say something about your birthday.

I’m twelve years old. My birthday is on the second of March. I usually have a birthday party. My cousin Mike comes to my party every year. We always play games together. Last year, I’ve got a kite as my birthday present from him. It’s a butterfly kite. I like it very much. I want to give him a nice water bottle as his birthday present. I think he will like it very much.

There is a farm near my grandparents’ house. It’s very beautiful. On the farm, there are many trees, flowers, animals and vegetables. And many farmers are working there. Some are cutting the grass. Some are planting trees and flowers. Some are doing some watering…At the weekends, I like to go there. I can pull up carrots, pick up fruits, feed chickens and ducks. I can see birds singing in the trees and sheep eating on the grass. I often have a good time there!

My favourite holiday is Spring Festival. It is a popular holiday in China. People usually dress up in new clothes, visit their relatives and friends, and eat lots of delicious food. Children always get much lucky money from their parents and relatives. They also like play the beautiful firework. Last Spring Festival, my parents and I went to grandparents’ house together. They were very happy to see us and gave me a warm hug. We had a big lunch. After lunch, we went shopping. I was very excited because my grandpa bought a toy car for me. I love it very much.

I love Spring Festival. It’s a holiday full of love and joy.

 

5. Say something about your hobbies.

Hi, my name is May. I’m a lovely girl. I study at …Primary School. I have many hobbies. I like singing. I can sing beautifully. I like English songs very much. I learn English songs from my teachers and the computer. After class I often sing songs with my friends. I like collecting stamps, too. I have many stamps such as flower stamps, animal stamps and so on. My father likes stamps, too. We often collect stamps at the weekends. That’s interesting.

 

6. Say something about your favourite present.

  I have many presents. They are nice and lovely. And my favourite present is a white bike. It’s my tenth birthday present. It’s from my parents. I always go to school by bike. Sometimes I go to buy something for my mother by bike. I also can ride my bike to my grandparents’. Every Sunday morning my father and I go to the park by bike. It’s interesting. I love my bike. It’s my good friend.
